Chevening Fellowships are funded and awarded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) of the United Kingdom (UK).

The aim of the Chevening Fellowships is to offer mid-career professionals, identified by the embassy, the opportunity of an intensive three-month course, from January to April every year, in the UK, aligned to subject areas of strategic interest to the FCO.

In 2008, the British Embassy in Cairo sent 11 Egyptian mid-career professionals from different Egyptian government departments and NGOs to study in the UK.
